“We May Need That Water” Says Landowner . . .
as Surface Rights Discussed at Cadogan

Members of the Surface Rights Society No. 52 heard from two guests at an annual meeting in Cadogan on February 19.

Present to address members on issues was chairman of the Surface Rights and Land Compensation Board, Stan Schumacher of Edmonton and Alberta Environment Regional Services representative David Lloyd of Red Deer.
President of the Surface Rights Society No. 52 is Allan Brown of Czar and secretary-treasurer is David Blume of Hayter.

The organization provides information to landowners on surface rights matters.

Volunteer for the group, Agnes Whiting told The News that a resolution was made at the meeting that deals with how petroleum companies use water for injection purposes. The resolution is expected to be brought up this week at a provincial Surface Rights Federation meeting in Camrose.

Blume, who is a member of the Surface Rights Society No. 52 said in an interview that the resolution being put forward deals with how petroleum companies use water for injection purposes.
