During the recent opening ceremonies of the sixth Canadian Finals Rodeo performance in Edmonton, Amisk steer wrestler Blaine Pederson, and other inductees to the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, was introduced to the 15,923 in attendance.

Pederson was chosen Rookie of the Year when he began his pro rodeo career in 1982, and also was the CFR Canadian Steer Wrestling Champion that year, the first rookie to do so in that event.

He competed at the CFR 15 times and at the NFR five times.

The official induction took place in Calgary on October 30.

Being introduced along with Pederson were bullfighter Ryan Byrne, saddle bronc rider Duane Daines, bareback riders Alvin Owens and George Myron, committeeman Will Senger and bareback horse Coyote.
