SOUTHPORT, Manitoba.—Cadogan, Alberta native Capt. Tressa Olson was awarded her Air Force pilot’s wings during a ceremony at 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (CFFTS) here by 17 Wing Winnipeg Commander Col. Ken O'Brien on Friday, November 18.

Olson joined the Air Force in 2002 after graduating from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She will now proceed to CFB Gagetown, N.B., to complete her operational training on the CH-146 Griffon utility tactical transport helicopter and will be posted to 408 "Goose" Tactical Helicopter Squadron at Steele Barracks in Edmonton.

She completed her pilot training at 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School, which conducts helicopter pilot training and multi-engine aircraft pilot training using a variety of aircraft to accomplish its mission, including the Bell CH-139 Jet Ranger training helicopter, the Raytheon King Air C-90B multi-engine trainer and the Grob 120-A primary trainer, which is operated by the Allied Wings consortium.
