Man Injured in Vehicle-Train Collision

One man was injured when an automobile (right) and a Canadian Pacific Railway train collided on August 13 at approximately 10:44 a.m. There were four people in the white GMC Yukon vehicle when it struck the passing train at range road 41, west of Cadogan. One man was injured. RCMP report that the driver of vehicle Tobias Gross of Edgerton was charged with careless driving. There was some damage to the front of the train, but no structural damage. The Provost Fire Department, EMS and RCMP attended at the scene.

Teachers have been hired for the 2011-2012 school year which is scheduled to begin in the area on Wednesday morning, August 31 (today).

One Win for Ball Team at Western Canadian Finals
The Provost Combine Pilots baseball team travelled to Trail, B.C. for the Senior AA Western Canada Championships where they represented Alberta.

Provost won one game and lost three at the August 25 to 28 tournament.

Crash Takes Life of Man
A two vehicle crash took the life of a 58 year old Provost man on Sunday afternoon, August 21 near Joffre, Alberta.
Blackfalds RCMP were called at approximately 6 p.m. to the scene involving a motorcycle and a small Dodge truck.
