New Score Clock at Arena

Provost’s new score clock can be seen in action at Crescent Point Place. The 2,000 pound (one ton) unit was assembled one day and then approximately four hours was spent lifting it into position another day just before hockey season, says recreation director Kevin Ganser. The purchase was a 50-50 partnership between Provost Minor Hockey and the Provost Recreation Board and came with a price tag of $50,000. The new unit, which was running for the arena’s opening on October 1 displays information from four sides and includes presenting the time left in a game, names of teams playing, penalty information, what period the game is in and shots on goal. The old clock is still in possession of the town and has been lent to the local football team for their home games. ©Provost News Photo.
