Cool Mirage Returns

What seems to be a near-annual occurrence near Provost (partially shown behind trees) is an illusion of odd, tall cliffs stretching skyward; and south to north before dissipating (at right). Looking west from Ferris’s hill, this photo was taken December 31, 2025 at 1:26 p.m. Mirages occur when light rays are refracted and curved by passage between air layers of different density and temperature. For more details, see The Provost News dated January 7, 2026. ©Provost News Photo.
